Average glide ratio by flight

Mean of sampled GNSS points with horizontal speed above 5 m/s and descent speed above 1 m/s. Uses the current search and jump-type filter.

Plan a route

Click the map to add route points, then drag the numbered points to adjust the route. Distance updates as you drag; elevation and glide-ratio comparisons refresh automatically. Choose a jump type to narrow the historical comparison.

Historical flight terrain profiles were sampled from Open-Meteo 90 m data. Flights are ranked by terrain shape and elevation, then median glide similarity. Without a historical profile, recorded exit elevation is used first. These estimates do not confirm that a route is achievable or safe.

Metrics follow the provided Base Sight detector. GPS altitude is used. Simulator comparisons are descriptive only; terrain, conditions, equipment, and measurement error are not modeled.
